Huntsville AL Engagement Photography {Amy and Daniel Are Engaged!}

From their jeans and motorcycle photographs to the decision to have their ceremony at Amy’s parents’ home in Killen, Amy and Daniel are definitely a fun and easy going couple. When asked to describe the style for her wedding, Amy simply said, “I want it to be a casual, fun event that reflects our personalities.” She mentioned that she loves to crochet and is considering decorating with burlap, antique doilies, and other vintage accessories. Amy, a photographer herself, said that pictures, especially these, mean everything to her.  “This is what I do,” she said. “I’ve been working for photographers and working on my own since I was 18. I love the emotion you can show through a single image. I mean the main thing is that we’re getting married and starting our lives together…but, I need awesome pictures to remember this day!”

When we asked Amy to tell us their engagement story, it was no surprise that their story was sweet, full of love, and simple. She remembers January 14th, a night that she and Daniel went to dinner at Fiesta Mexicana in Rogersville. “It was rainy and ice was on the trees, so no one was there. Everyone else was out getting bread and milk,” she joked. “After we ate, we went back to his house to hang out. We love to cuddle, so we were laying on his bed talking about how we didn’t really have a ‘special place’ that we always go that he could propose at. Daniel said this was his special place, this is where we talk about out future and where he told me he loved me for the first time. He told me he needed to get his phone, so he reached into the drawer of his night stand.” Amy knew this wasn’t even where he kept his phone, so she started to get a little suspicious. “Then, he hugged me and showed me the ring and said, ‘How about we make this permanent, will you marry me?’ and I said ‘YES! Yes, of course!”

Amy remembers Daniel being nervous and a little shaky that night. “He said I always make him nervous,” she remembers. “He just loves me so much he didn’t want me to say no! I love him so much and I can’t wait for us to spend our lives together.” Just like their personalities, Amy and Daniel’s engagement photos turned out beautifully! The pure and sweet love they have for one another was a joy to capture and even though it was difficult to pick the best ones, check out a few of our favorites!

Southern TN Wedding Photography {Amanda and Ryan are Married}

I had the great pleasure and honor of capturing two of my friends from high school say “I Do” to one another on such a beautiful day in Sewanee, TN. I like to think that I had a small part in these two meeting. Ryan and I (Lauren) sat at the same lunch table in high school and one day Amanda came and found me to tell me something of great importance I am sure, or perhaps just avoiding going back to class. And after meeting him that day, she kept telling me how cute she thought he was! They eventually started dating and made such a great couple. THey went their separate ways when they went to college but they somehow managed to find their way back to one another. I believe that when one heart is so right for the other, there is nothing that can keep them apart. And I truly believe that these two belong together. I have never seen Amanda so happy or in love than on this day. She got ready at her parents home, where I myself spent so much time. We sat in the bathroom talking and reminiscing about the good old days. As I watched her transform into a bride, my heart swelled with joy. Here was my beautiful, carefree, always smiling friend getting ready for the biggest day of her life and I was there to witness it all. The day could not have been more perfect! Beautiful weather, an amazing location, great friends and some good beer. After the “I Do’s”, everyone went to Shenanigan’s (a local eatery) where we indulged in a burrito buffet and listened to one amazing blue grass band, Whisky Bent Valley Boys. if you have never heard of these guys, you must look them up! With every song they played, every stomp they stomped, you became more and more entranced with their music. I know this may sound cliche, but I don’t care… It was such a magical night. I can still hear the music and the sound of everyone’s feet stomping on the old hardwood floors. Everyone just laughed and danced the night away. It will be a night I never forget! I love you both Amanda and Ryan and we wish you nothing but the best that this world may have to offer!
